The Clay Workshop is about my journey in the world of ceramics, first as a student, then a studio and production potter, then an avid lover of Raku, and now as a student again, as I try to teach my 5 year old the joys of this wonderful material (he is a natural, as all children are), as well as teach myself the patience required to master it.
Morty Bachar is a proprietor of Lakeside Pottery. After leaving the corporate world , he pursued his passion for art and pottery and is now an accomplished ceramic artist and pottery teacher. His work is exhibited and sold in shows. He instructs beginner and advanced pottery students on the potters wheel, consultant to schools, businesses and studios.
Patty Storms, proprietor of Lakeside Pottery, is a painter and ceramic artist. She began her love for pottery under the instruction of Ken Kantro, (Lovell Designs) in Portland, Maine. After graduating from Wesleyan University she worked at both Christie's and LIGHT Gallery in New York City in the field of 19th and 20th century photography. She teaches the potters wheel and handbuilding/sculpting in both children and adult classes.
Ceramic artists and potter Bob Nicholson produces both functional pottery and decorative ceremonial pieces. His work draws on ancient forms, symbols, and archetypes, expressed through a range of ceramic techniques. His studio is located in Sunnyvale, California.

My barnacle glaze is the unique chemical combination of three glazes that when properly melted together produce an intense reaction that creates an unusual barnacle like effect. The barnacles look good, feel good, and are durable.
