This blog is part of the design and development process of the BREADPOT project. Volunteer testers were given early breadpots and made contributors to the blog. It helped me design the breadpot and includes recipes, insights and experiences along the way. There is a paypal link for easy purchase of a BreadPot for yourself or a gift.

If my work is to speak to people, I want it to whisper. I want it to solicit further exploration and make a gentle statement. I want my work to enter into dialogue with the viewer, wake a deep settled memory, rejuvinate a soft remembrance or even inspire an unexplored view.
I use simple and basic shapes and add intense texture thus creating a pierced effect and in the process challenge the clay to the limit. My process entails slab building, carving, texturing and finally piercing. The shadows cast by the playing with light becomes an integral part of the piece. I work with paper porcelain and feel it possesses the very qualities I need to create the end result. The lack of decoration gives my work a contemporary, statuesque feel whilst enhancing the form and quality of the clay.
