Training
I started my ceramic career as an apprentice to Gunnar Nylund, a ceramic designer and sculptor. I received my formal ceramic training in England at the North Staffordshire Polytechnic,
Stoke-on-Trent (71 - 75) and in the US at MIT, Boston and Rutgers University, New Brunswick (77 -
79). I worked in the laboratory - and studio departments of Rörstrand Ltd, the largest Swedish
ceramic tableware-manufacturer for ten years before I set up my own studio together with my wife Suzanne Öhlén in 1986. We both work full-time as ceramic artists.

Most of my work is woodfired, (saltglazed) stoneware; utilitarian ware, tiles for floors, walls and
murals, but also sculptural work.

Take on consultancy-jobs as teaching, course-administrator and leader, text-book writing, etc to
make ends meet, both economically and socially.

I´m a member of a number of professional institutions and cooperatives; Lerverk (a craft-potters cooperative in Gothenburg), Center for Art & Craft in Stockholm , The Swedish Ceramic Society.

Exibitions
Since the mid 80´s I have participated in a large number of group-exibitions in and around Sweden. I have also during the same time had a number of solo-performances at various galleries. Currently involved with an exibition/installation-project "Tidvatten" ("Tide") with a painter, a composer and a writer.
