Arlene Shechet discusses her glazed ceramic sculptures which are a part of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art's [SMoCA] Seriously Funny exhibit. The sacred and the profane are abound in her work as she pushes the medium, modeling clay into irregular, globular forms with appendages and protrusions that have a distinct sense of play. Event organized in conjunction with the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts [NCECA] conference held in Phoenix.
