Hi Guys, I make high relief tiles and have been toying with the idea of using a coloured slip to decorate them. Will I lose the detail ? . I fire to 04 and the slip is made from the same clay as the tile

Hi Kier,
It has been my experience that if you use slips, yes, you will lose detail. Although it is hard to know for sure without know what type of carving you do, or how detailed it is :?. Perhaps consider watering down the slip a bit before yoy apply it.
