Default Question on using banding wheels...

hello, I have seen some wonderful videos of people hand building cups, bowls, ect. using a banding wheel like a pottery wheel. I have a banding wheel, but it just doesn't seem to spin as freely and keep spinning when pressure is applied. I was wondering if anyone knew of what type, brand, of wheel that they use?
    thanks for your time

I have a Lockerbie banding wheel which is awesome but I use it more for glazing then building on. I use a lazy susan to hand-build on. The videos that I have seen usually are of people that are extremely skilled at this technique. They make works this way everyday for hours and hours consecutively. So it might not be the banding wheel but just the amount of practice and skill this technique involves.

Shimpo also makes a good banding wheel.

    Good luck,
    Andy
