    Default Aluminum Foil Saggar

I've had miserable luck with the saggar process. Every resource I've tried suggest firing to 1350 F to 1450 F. I've tried both with lousy results, the foil breaks down and the colors are anemic. Even though so many have has success at these high temps the only fair results I've had were at 1160 F.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have never had luck doing aluminum foil saggars, nor I have I seen any done by others that achieved good color. Try doing a paper sagger, it is similar to aluminum foil saggars but instead you cover everything with paper dipped in clay slip. Here is a link on how to do it here. I have done this many times with great success, so after reading the article let me know if you have any questions.
