Description: This is a common glaze (somewhat similar to NELSON & RHODES) however this one came from DON PENNY which explains why all of the pots I've bought from his studio over decades have such wonderful smooth, rich, deep "Buttery" surfaces.Color: Semi-Matt base glazeCone: 9 to 11Oxidation or Reduction: Oxidation/Reduction
Ingredients:
48.90 potash feldspar (G-200) See note below regarding G-200
25.20 kaolin (EPK)
22.40 dolomite (Camadil)
3.50 Whiting (Imersys #10)
---------
100.00
Note: G-200 has been discontinued and replaced by G-200HP
To ceate G-200, replace the 48.90 G200 above with the following 2 lines.....
34.23 G-200HP
14.67 NC-4 (Soda Feldspar)
Application: Any method works well.Additional Info: Very stable with virtually no running. I've used it over a very light application of a black gloss,
and applied the DON PENNY recipe over that with great results. The above glaze is a calcium/magnesia high clay and accepts colorants quite well.
***** Fairly cheap ingredients and readily available.
