Hello there!
My name is Karen and I live in New Orleans with four Boston Terriers. I am presently taking care of my Dad, so I have had some extra time to pursue my addictions, clay and ceramics, photography and I have started learning to make jewelry, which seems to be a natural progression. I enjoy creating small pieces which I now incorporate into necklaces, earrings and pins.

I am in the process of opening an Etsy shop (KarensKlayworks) and would love to add a blog in the future, so any assistance or advice from all of the experinced members would be greatly appreciated.

I have been working with clay for approximately three years and attend class/studio time at a local community center. Most of what I have done is hand building, although I have purchased and glazed a few bisque pieces too. It's as close to instant gratification with a firing schedule for a community center kiln

I would love to learn more about glaze formulas and techniques, especially with higher firing temps, and also would like to add a pottery class in the future. I have not had the opportunity to use a wheel and I am itching to do so

I really look forward to sharing with and learning from each of you and I am very happy to have found this site. Thank you to any administrators and moderators as you are the backbone of any good and active forum or message board!
