Hi, my name is Paul and I am new to the art of clay. For me it started when a potter who I commissioned to make a few pieces for me invited me to come see her studio. The invitation included an invite to sit in on a one day class on hand building. I attended and was amazed at what could be made in just one day of instruction. I also loved the fact that I could craft something directly with my hands as opposed to having tools touch the work. I then decided to try a fall session at a ceramic class and immediately fell in love with the wheel. Well to make a long story short I found a wheel and a kiln on Kijiji for very little money and started to create a studio in my basement. I am now making my own glazes and am very satisfied with the results. Yes, I've created a few stinker glazes but at least half are keepers.
I'm looking forward to learning from others on this board and picking up some tips or recipes for cone 6 oxidation.
Best regards,
Paul
