Hello,
I've been looking for a new hobby. I moved out to the boonies ten years ago as a better place to raise my kid’s vs the big metro of the south bay. Prior to getting married and settling down I was into muscle cars. I even built a workshop as a place to restore a early model Camaro. Well, after about 7 years of building the car I came to the realization it just not practical where I live and my kids were not into it at all. So I got rid of the car and started converting my shop for woodworking. My daughters got into it with me as I acquired some power tools but it made me a Nervous Nellie with my precious girls (Now 11 and 13) so close to things that can remove fingers in a heartbeat. We did a little stained glass only because my mom quit doing stained glass and gave me all her stuff.

I've got it in my head I want to throw pots so I asked around and found out a friend of mines mom has a kiln she no longer uses. So I've been saving a little here and a little there and in two weeks I will go to fetch the lil hot box. Its decent size from what I can tell almost 20" deep and just over 23" dia. Now to make me a variable speed electric lazy Susan on steroids...I'm just the kind to pull that off, I started this past Sunday and I'll likely finish it up next weekend. I'll take some pics of the build but that will be subject for another thread.

For now Ill entertain myself with watching videos of Simon Leech and others on you tube and see what knowledge I can pick up thumbing through the forum here. I checked our little JC and they have classes on ceramic and pottery so I will sign up for the fall semester starting mid August.

I have been active an member on a couple other forums (Car related and woodworking) so I know my way around a forum and I tend to be rather out-going so fasten yer seat belt and lets get spinning!

Greetings from Mariposa Ca
