is there anyone out there that could help with the following;

I want to make a piece for outside but want strong vibrant colours and frost proof
Ive been told to use stoneware as this is frost resistant but the stoneware glazes all seem a bit dull.

Can i use eathenware fired at a high temp to vitrify and then use earthenware glazes or can I use earthenware glazes with stoneware
or anyone know of colourful stoneware glazes thanks foe any help.
