    Default Leather- hard in Japanese?

Does anyone know what the word for "leather-hard" is in Japanese? I mean, the word that the Japanese use to point to that condition of the clay. I can translate the word, but I doubt it is the same as spoken. Thanking You, Peter.

    Default Half dry

Thanks for the reply. Of course I can translate the words "leather" and "hard", as does a Japanese translation tool. However this is a English language ceramic term, which I suspected would have a unique, Japanese, expression, not necessarily the equivalent. A translation tool can not cope with special expressions. As I have since found, it is, han gawaki. This means half dry.

I received this note from a Facebook friend to help verify your findings.
I haven't learned ceramics in Japan, so I'm not sure. However, according to my Japanese ceramic books, "leather-hard" stage is similar to "半乾き"(han-gawaki) or "半乾燥"(han-kansoh) , which mean "half dry". I think "leather-hard" is the perfect expression.
