Exclamation Oregon tile maker needs advice

Hi, Does anyone have experience with Spectrum low stone glaze Old Copper? I just got my kiln elements replaced and my formally green glaze is coming out blue. I have customers waiting for green tiles for fireplaces. I have always fired it on slow glaze at 06. I have tried 07. I have tried slow bisque setting at 06. Would programing in a 10 minute delay help? Thanks

My thought is that kiln is now firing faster so the glaze is not developing like it was. I might try firing to 05. I could be wrong though. Or perhaps the a 10 minute soak at the end of the firing is a good idea. I would place cone 05 06 and 07 to see what you are truly firing to, perhaps it may be time to replace your thermocouple as well.

One of my Facebook friends suggested the following as well.

The potter might consider programming a ramp, so that the firing is slower throughout the firing. That would duplicate aging elements.

    Thanks Andy,
I think I will be doing a test at 05.If nothing else I may discover abeautiful blue! But right now I am trying 06 set at slow bisque, with a 20min hold. I think that my last test was inconclusive because I was trying to refire tiles. Today I am using fresh tiles. I got the suggestion about ramping, but actually I don't know how to do that. Thanks Again.Fay

I worked with this glaze ,,, I was suppose to create antique looking tiles,, I tested it on white clay and also red clay,,, seemed on the white clay came bluish and the red one green,,,, I fired it to cone 06.. I am a slow fire-er person in general,,, and also soak my kiln,,,, That was my experience with this glaze,,, hope gives u a little hint,,,If u need to see the sample ,,I have a picture of the green one,,,can send it to u,,,
