Assistant/Associate Professor of Art

Clarke University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time tenure track teaching position in Ceramics and Sculpture. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in both ceramic and sculpture processes and techniques. Coursework includes: 3D Design as part of an integrated foundations core, Ceramics I-IV, Ceramic Sculpture I-II and Sculpture I-II. Courses are rotated within a 3/3 teaching load. Additional responsibilities include supervision of independent senior capstone projects as well as maintaining materials and equipment in the ceramics and sculpture studios.
The Art and Art History Department at Clarke offers a comprehensive undergraduate program and awards both the BA and BFA degrees in studio art. Art faculty members and students work together to create a lively and supportive arts community.
MFA or terminal degree in Ceramics or Sculpture required at time of hire. Candidates should be well versed in contemporary issues and practices in ceramics and sculpture. Prior successful teaching experience at the college level required. Ongoing professional/creative activities, research and scholarship expected.
