Job Summary/Responsibilities: The position of Assistant Professor, Ceramics will be available in the Department of Art and Design at the
University of North Florida in August, 2011. Candidates must be able to teach beginning, intermediate and advanced Ceramics as well as the Foundations class, 3D Design. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching, evidence of a creative agenda resulting in works being included in peer-reviewed and jureid exhibitions, and professional and university service.

Required Qualifications: An MFA in ceramics from an accredited institution is required. Candidates should have 3 years of teaching experience at the university level. Candidates are expected to demonstrate promise and excellence in teaching, research/scholarship/creative production, and professional and university service.

Preferred Qualifications: 5 years teaching experience at the university level is preferred.

Preferred candidates will be able to teach all aspects of the ceramic medium including; clay and glaze calculation, kiln building, beginning, intermediate, and advanced ceramics, as well as 3-D design.
