Ceramics Studio Technician

The Fine Arts Center is a dynamic exhibition and arts education facility located in the Heritage Park Complex. We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented individual with a background in ceramics and customer service experience, to assist the lead ceramics technician in providing technical support to the ceramics studio and the Fine Arts Education program. This position is Part-Time with a schedule requirement of up to 19 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service to Irvine Fine Arts Center patrons as well as provide assistance with the facility’s general operations.
Monitor ceramics firing process and overall organization specific to the Ceramics Open Studio and Art Education programs at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, including loading, unloading, and firing of five large ceramic kilns and one Raku kiln.
Organize and maintain general project delivery area and signage specific to the ceramics department.
Maintain ceramics studio equipment, including potter’s wheels, slab rollers, and extruder; order ceramics supplies and manage clay and glazes.
Assist with major special events and exhibition receptions on an on-going basis.
Assist and monitor ceramics instructors, technicians and volunteers in the absence of the lead technician.

HOURS: Thursday: 6:00-10:00 pm; Fridays: 9:30 am-5:30 pm; Saturdays: 8:30 am-5:30 pm
