The Clay Studio of Missoula presents:International Cup 2012
February 3-24, 2012 juried by Jayson Lawfer and Emily Schroeder International Cup 2012, sponsored by the Clay Studio of Missoula, is an exhibition showcasing ceramic work that explores the infinite possibilities of the idea of a cup. Juried by Jayson Lawfer and Emily Schroeder, past jurors include Patti Warashina (2009) and Richard Notkin (2006).

CALENDAR
ELIGIBILITY
- Application must be RECEIVED no later than November 18, 2011
- Notification will be mailed December 16, 2011
- Cups due at the Clay Studio January 24-27, 2012
- Exhibition dates: February 3-24, 2012

RULES
- Open to artists worldwide
- Size may not exceed 20 inches or 15 lbs.
- Work must be made primarily of clay
ENTRY FEE
- Each artist can enter up to two pieces
- All exhibited work must be for sale
- Work which differs from the submitted slides will be disqualified
- Non adherence to rules may be cause for disqualification
COMMISSION
- $22 for 1 or 2 entries
FREIGHT AND INSURANCE
- the Clay Studio receives a 40% commission on all sold work
DIGITAL IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
- The artist is responsible for freight and insurance on the work to and from Missoula, MT. The Clay Studio is responsible for insurance during the exhibition.

about our jurors:Jayson Lawfer
Jayson Lawfer has recently been living between Italy and the United States while directing The Nevica Project, an online gallery and art consulting business. After graduating from the University of Montana, Jayson completed an artist residency at Guldagergard in Denmark; The Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT; A.I.R. Vallauris in Vallauris, France; and Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago, IL., where he also has also worked as a guest curator for their gallery. His work has been exhibited extensively, and in 2005, the American Society of Ceramics selected Jayson as one of their “Emerging Artists of the Year”. From 2002-2006, Jayson was the Executive Director of The Clay Studio of Missoula. He currently works as the Director of Lillstreet Art Center’s nonprofit sector, ARTREACH.
Emily Schreder
Emily Schroeder received her MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2006. Emily’s artwork addresses markmaking in the context of clay as well as ink. She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the 2001 Jerome Fellowship from the Northern Clay Center and the Sage Scholarship from the Archie Bray Foundation. She has exhibited her work across North America as well as in Europe, Central America and Australia. Emily taught in Calgary, Canada at the Alberta College of Art + Design for the 2009-2010 academic school year as the ceramics department’s visiting artist and instructor under the Rawlinson Visiting Artist Initiative. Currently, she has a studio in Chicago at Lillstreet Art Center where she is also is working as their new Director of Artist Programs.
